
About Our Pastor
Suffragan Bishop Philip Knox is a graduate of Texas Bible College. He got married to his lovely wife, Lady Sharee Knox and his union was blessed with two children, his son, Phillip Knox II is a university and online professor and his daughter, Sharee Knox, a certified Physician Assistant.
Suffragan Bishop Knox was saved in 1974 and called to the ministry in 1977. He got saved under the leadership of the late Elton Bernard in Korea. He served in the United States Army for seven years and while he was in the military, he had the opportunity to serve under three pastors, the late Elton Bernard in Korea, the late Elder Clayton Carr of ElPaso, Texas, and the late Bishop Rufus Taylor in Germany. After serving his time in the military, he was blessed with other pastors that were an inspiration to him.
The Lord blessed the late Suffragan Bishop Wallace Johnson of Darlington, South Carolina to install Suffragan Bishop Knox as pastor of Gospel Mission Apostolic Church, Charleston, South Carolina and appointed him to Mt. Zion Apostolic Church in Ridgeland, South Carolina. He has been pastoring at Gospel Mission Apostolic Church for 37 years. From under his leadership, God has blessed three to become pastors, Pastor Gary Jordan of the Bread of Life Ministries, Pastor JoAnn Baxter, Next Generation Ministries and Pastor Craig Cash, Kingdom Fellowship Ministries.
Suffragan Bishop Knox was elevated to Suffragan Bishop of the North Carolina State Council, the 58 Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World by the late Diocesan Bishop Edward Roberts in July 2006. He served on the board of the North Carolina State Council of the 58th Episcopal District under the leadership of late Diocesan Bishop Marion E. Wright Sr. and he is now serving under the leadership of Diocesan Bishop Maxie D. Dobson of the 58th Episcopal of the North Carolina Sate Council.
Suffragan Bishop Knox ultimate desire is to be used by God and to see souls saved. One of his favorite scriptures that has inspired him throughout his life and ministry: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time ( I Peter 5:6).” Gospel Mission Apostolic Church is blessed to have a leader of integrity that is inspired to do the work of God.
